Multi language shops

If you have a shop in multiple languages, you would of course like to refer or show your banners, headlines, links, etc. to / in the correct language.
To get this done, it is useful to take this into account in the theme settings. Below we will give an example of how to do this.

Suppose we have the following theme setting and your shop has Dutch, English and German as languages:

You can solve this problem in 2 ways, the second is preferred:

1) Enter a text in the default language. In the above case, it is English. Then go to Settings > Translations > Button “custom translation”.

As a translation key you now use Pre-order now and you can assign any translation to this translation key. The disadvantage of this method is that you have to create new keys every time and translate them again. That will become confusing in the long run.

2) Our working method is a bit more structured and easier to maintain when you regularly change text. Enter a key that describes this field well. In our case, that is banner2_subtitle.

When you now go to Settings > Translations > Button “custom translation” and fill in this key, you can also use this key to display any translation you want.

If you want to change the texts in your banners, you only have to change the translations.

The above methods also work for links. So enter an easily recognizable translation key as, for example, banner link. For example banner2_link. Then enter the correct link to the correct language in the translations.
